Two New Photo Galleries
Tonight I finally learned how to use Simple Viewer through Flickr, and put up two new galleries on the photography section of Bikejerks.com.
Before tonight I only knew how to upload them directly to the website one file at a time, So I'm super stoked now to know how to do it on Flickr. (that's how awesome at the internet I am) I also updated the photo page to reflect these new editions.
The two new galleries
Bike Life Vol.4
(I know it's a very "ungh" and self indulgent title, but I've never been able to come up with a better name)
this one was actually shot by Kevvy, but I love it, so I'm including it. That was the only skid in Bootleg 3
(miss u skids)
Bike Life Vol. 4 Full Set
I am also proud to bring you our own Linda Sue Amundson's (remember this kid? That's her and the Don's progeny and he's a lifer from the cradle to the grave) portraits from this years ACC's.
ACC 5 Portraits
Full Set ACC 5 Portraits
If you get a chance I encourage you to check out both sets

ACC Photos by Shakes
Our own photographer to the stars, Shakes O'Meara (who you might remember from the Bike Jerks tattoo post, gallantly put aside paying gigs and came out to shoot the ACC last weekend.
I could tell you how amazing his shots turned out, but I'll just let the work speak for itself.

These are just the photos he emailed me, there are more on his Flickr. It's worth your time so check them out.
Nice work guy!

Nature Boy Bike Check and Weekend Ride Plans
Posted up the current state of my NB on the AC Blog today.
I also want to say that I'm planning on riding from Fort Snelling to the Low Road to the Old Cedar Bridge to Sibley House tomorrow. If any of yous out there want to go for a dirt ride (I've done it on a road bike but I'd recommend 32c's), meetup at the roundabout at Minnehaha falls at 1pm.
This is one of my all time favorite rides, and if you're a MPLS cyclist and you've never been on the low road, you're totally missing out.
Hope to see you there, there will be beer stops so bring a few.

Big Hole In Riverwest
The Boo and Patsy are moving out of earshot to Tulsa on Tuesday. Nobody is really saying good bye as you really never can to these two. You either end up lucky enough to see them regularly, or you patiently and excitedly wait until the next time you can. Riverwest has had the pleasure and honor of hosting these two for pert near a close to a decade and their impact has positively affected all of our lives. We'll all miss them. If you're in Tulsa, look them up.
Love you guys.

CRUCIAL JAMS
First concert I ever did a stage dive at. Just a wee lad. But holy shit was it fun. CHICAGO'S very own NAKED RAYGUN. Such an important band to me.
Great Taste Of The Midwest
Sorry folks for being out of the loop for a smidge there, but I've been running around like a damn fool and I'm just starting to get caught up. Couple of weeks ago was the Great Taste Of The Midwest in Madison, WI. I went over with Boo and Patsy, Jacob, Luther, Dude Man, Russ, and Molly. Going with two brewmasters meant that we had access to all 1500 beers before the rest of the public for 2 hours. You can do some damage in 2 hours.
We "punched in" at 8:45. AM. Maybe the earliest ever for this guy. Here's Jacob and Dude Man workin' too.
Jacob setting up the cooler shooter -
Luther working the soaks -
Pope of the King of Beer Leader -
And one man defying the laws of physics only 1 hour in. How he stayed upright was beyond logic. He gave the rope the what for.
Lots of folks and food and hazy memories.
Too many great beers to remember. FOUNDER'S, TYRANENA, FITGER'S, BELL'S, DESTIHL, LAKE LOUIE, NEW HOLLAND, ALE ASYLUM, and GREAT LAKES come to mind though. I'll go to this every year hope to say.

Wednesday
Morning commute, MPLS
in the course of 24hours I have ticked off two big objectives on my list of things I've been meaning to do: ride the velodrome, and punch the river bottoms through from low road to fairy bridge

ACC 5 Alleycat Results
A huge thanks to all the cats who came out and enjoyed themselves this past weekend. Every year I look forward to organizing the ACC and every year at it's conclusion I'm sad that it's over.
Props to all the volunteers, Emily Anderson our awesome volunteer coordinator, Rox Box, and all the racers and partyers especially the out of towners who made the trek to be with us. This weekend was for you, the bike community, you make it possible, you are the reason MPLS is one of the best places to live in this country.

manifesting
Martin and John. Martin would go on to win the whole thing and John would assume Martin's place as the 35+ Masters Champ
Sprint Champ and second and third place finishers Treasure Crayton and Brauer Power
lined up for the start
Andy of Trash Bags stamps a manifest
dub b's
Afterparty
We had tons of good beer, thanks to Surly Brewing and our man Luther from Lakefront in MKE who brought up four quarter barrels. Luther you made my night!

Mens
Martin

Womens

Out of Town
Dawn (Atlanta)
Wes (Atlanta)
(apparently I messed up and a dude from Mankato finished in front of Wes, my apologies sir, I applaud your effort and hope you'll forgive the error)
Masters
Dawn
John
(both masters categories were actually won by the overall race winners, but since they were already getting stuff the win for masters passed to the next rider)
The course for the alleycat was way longer than I had anticipated with the winners coming in around 33 miles. I thought it was going to be more like 25, but if you've raced my courses in the past, then you know that I'm a terrible judge of distances.
Props to everyone who rode. I'll see you next year and I want you to know that you mean the world to me. I always get stressed out and crabby during the organization of events, and if I was harsh or cross with you, know that I was lost in the moment and just trying to keep things manageable by shutting out any outside voices or interactions. In actuality I like you very much and was super glad to see you. Especially all the folks representing Bike Jerks and All-City, I was stoked to see you flying the colors.
If you have photos or video from this weekend that you'd like to share with the blog readers please send them my way or put them up on flickr and email me the link.
See you next year,
xoxo
