I feel like a total hypocrite and asshole, but I can't help but feeling sad that Cinelli is making short riser bars
it just seems undignified for such a storied marque. I want to see beautiful things in polished silver, not flavor of the month bars in white. and the fact that they're 31.8 and wicked short alloy means they'll likely have a brutal ride. I feel like they just drew a moustache on my mona lisa.

This was my exact thought when I saw these.
it's fixie loving trendsters that push the industry to put out products like this. you poo-poo this, but trackosaurus and prolly followers are creaming their girl jeans.
:(
And I thought the Volume Hipster bars were embarrassing.
Not the first market they've chased: http://mombat.org/1989_Cinelli_TAM.htm
Jefe - I'll ring you tomorrow.
I was browsing their site and noticed a few bar shapes that look modern and reasonable but totally derivative. I also remembered the Cinelli mtn bikes. I guess the bigger question than the issue of these bars is why everyone (myself included) has such a hard on for the name Cinelli. I was also wondering this same thing regarding Colnago. Many many bicycle construction nerds will tell you that there were many builders and companies with far better construction practices and product than Colnago. Yet they are almost universally accepted as the premium manufacturer of the bike boom era. Why has history lead us to have such rose colored nostalgia tinted glasses towards these brands?
I don't mind the trickster bars. they seem practical to me.
Don't be surprised when you see things like this. You all brought this upon yourself the second you decided to associate these trends with your lifestyle. We'll do anything to make money.
