Wouter Weylandt

If you haven't heard, Belgian cyclist Wouter Weylandt suffered a fatal crash on today's Giro stage. This is the first casualty in a major tour in over 15 years, and a reminder that cycling is often both a beautiful and tragic sport. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family and the whole peloton, wherever you ride be careful out there.

WW's death was tragic.

Not the first in 15+ years though. Andrei Kivilev died during Paris-Nice in '03. His death made the UCI mandate the use of helmets.
