On Saturday we headed down to the annual Art Crank poster show.
this year's Art Crank was held in a huge space on third in North
I've been kind of down on Art Crank the past few years, it lost some of it's bike community cred when it moved out of One on One last year and I feel like the posters have gotten a bit formulaic as many have moved to a simple recipe in order to guarantee sales: rider skyline "MPLS".
(I blame everyone wishing they were Adam Turman)
This year's show, while even farther removed from the bike community (it attracted a huge "fashionable" people crowd), showed a lot of creativity among the poster designs.
first ever fat bike related poster at the show?
this was probably my favorite of the show
this was done by Surly's art director, Andy Wood
this one by our buddy Geoff Schley was super cute
I hear that half the show now resides at the One on One

Thanks for the post. I'm glad you found some stuff to love at this year's show.
Actually the whole show — minus the posters that sold out on opening night — will go up at One On One this weekend (Saturday, April 21). This is exactly what we've done every year for the past three years, and will continue to do for as long as people keep showing up.
As for the posters getting formulaic, everyone's entitled to their opinion. I'd encourage people to check out the Flickr sets (http://www.flickr.com/photos/cyouel/sets/) for what I humbly believe is ample evidence to the contrary.
Ride on,
Charles
