Mike's Cinelli S.C. Mod. A.
I recently had the opportunity to shoot my co worker Mike's Cinelli Super Corsa Model A.

Here is the info that Mike provided:
It’s a Cinelli S.C. (Super Corsa) Mod. A. Top drawer model, with sloping fork crown. It’s difficult to pin down the exact year because Cinelli serial numbers aren’t helpful. It’s likely a 1961 or 1962. There is a date stamp of “62” on the hub. (There is a grease port in the BB signifying that it is pre-1965.) It could be older, though. Most components are original, save the pedals and saddle (which are period correct) and likely the brakes. I found it at a bike shop in Albuquerque on consignment, as the owner who bought it new had passed away. He was a prof at Stanford and worked at Los Alamos labs in NM, where he commuted with it. When I got it, it was in pretty bad shape. The kicker is I paid like $150.00 for it. The cranks alone are worth several hundred dollars.

I was digging through my photos recently and came across this shot that I have always loved. It was taken in the shop at Freewheel where Brad Wilson of Capricorn was moonlighting while getting his frame building business going. This was in the fall of 2007 and I was one of his first customers. At this point the frame was principally done, and I met him at work to show him where I'd like the stainless hearts brazed onto the frame.
I like that you don't notice the opposite chainstay at first, but when you see it a key detail of the frame is revealed. A custom frame detail that would eventually make it's way onto the All-City's.
Seeing it again I really wanted to blur out that Park grease can. I have absolutely no Photoshop skills, having never received any instruction or spent any time learning how to do anything besides what I absolutely need to do for my rudimentary graphic design.
I gave it a go.

Just Awful
I know it's pretty much superfluous to care at this point, but is there anything worse than what Weezer has become?
*they've been playing this commercial nonstop during the Tour
They are just so awful.
And now I feel like a sucker anytime I even consider listening to Pinkerton.
It's moments like the above that make me thankful that many of my favorite band's careers have been short and we weren't subjugated to watching them grow terrible and tired.
You've squandered any goodwill that once existed, please just go away.

Tools
Got a new tool the other day, so stoked on finally being able to cut steerers at home. I know that some folks will argue that they "mushroom" the end of the steerer, but I have yet to ever have any issues and I used to use one of these all the time when I was assembling custom bicycles for a living.
Granted they do work better on alloy than steel steerers, but it's a heck of a lot cheaper for the home mechanic than buying a guide and a hacksaw, especially if you don't own a vice.
